Manchester United v Manchester City FA Cup Preview

The tide is turning, that’s what everyone are saying. For once, United aren’t the favorites going in to this match with City

After the 6-1 hammering earlier this season United will be careful not to take City lightly. The last 2 games have proven that united are weak in the center and that’s where teams can hurt them. Also without Vidic the United defence looks very average to say the least.

Main weapon
United
Rooney is undoubtedly the top dog for United. When he is on form, his link up play with Nani is a joy to watch. He will try to put pressure on Joleon Lescott who has been in and out of the City team and is not really having a good season

City
Silva. Need I say more? This guy was absolutely immense in the match at old Trafford. He pulled the strings and ran rings around the United midfield. United will have to contain him which isn’t an easy task. Hopefully, Carrick will have a good game and be able to contain him.

Team News
United
United have a host of injury problems. Vidic remains the long term absentee, Ashley young is out for 2 more weeks. Jonny Evans, Chris Smalling and Tom Cleverley are all doubtful

City
Kolo and Yaya Toure are away on duty playing for Ivory Coast in the African Cup of Nations. Gareth Barry is serving a suspension while Mario Balotelli, Edin Dzeko and Samir Nasri are all doubtful.

United haven’t won the FA cup since 2004 so this opportunity gives them that added motivation to progress to the next round. However, beating City at the Etihad stadium is no easy task. It hasn’t been done this entire season and I don’t see it happening to Sunday as well

Prediction: City 1-1 United (United to progress at Old Trafford in the replay)

Why we don't call our beautiful club Man U

Man U is not a term United fans refer to themselves as. The term is only used by other supporters as a complete and utter insult to our club. The "u" is meant to be "you" by the rival fans.

An early example of its usage is this chant by West Brom fans: "Duncan Edwards is manure, rotting in his grave, man you are manure- rotting in your grave". The origin of "Man u" is a song to insult the dead Duncan Edwards.

Liverpool and Leeds fans copied this with their own man you /u versions to insult all of the lads who died at munich.

"Man U Man U went on a plane Man U Man U never came back again"

and..

"Man U Never Intended Coming Home" (if you combine the first letter of each word you get the word "munich").

I hope this makes it clearer that saying man u is an insult, particularly to the older supporters and to see United fans using it now is shameful. I hope a few might read this, understand and spread the word.

So... Please REFRAIN from using this term ever again!!!!!!!!
